During the 2019-20 season, Lifesavers with Pride attended multiple Fair Days around the country, spreading the message that lifesaving is a progressive, welcoming and inclusive organisation that is a natural fit for our LGBTI members and new recruits.
Brisbane held its March and Pride Rally on Saturday 21 Sept, and LWP was happy to join the Qld Police, and Dept of Emergency Services in presenting Surf Life Saving to the LGBTIQ community.
The Central Coast Twist Festival was held on the long weekend October with the Fair Day on Sunday 06 October. LWP, supported by Ocean Beach SLSC joined local community groups such as the NSW State Emergency Service and local police in promoting LGBTIQ within the Central Coast
Perth held its WA Pride Fair Day on Sunday 02 November, where LWP joined St Johns Ambulance and WA Police in getting the message to the LGBTIQ community that Surf Life Saving is proud of its diversity and inclusive stance
Adelaide had great weather for the Feast Festival's Picnic in the Park on 24 November on the Torren's River where we shared the day with the SA Police in showing the LGBTIQ community about how welcoming Surf Life Saving is.
Melbourne's Midsumma festival Carnivale was held on 30 January, and saw Life Saving Victoria join their Emergency Services counterparts at the festival promoting Lifesaving to the local LGBTIQ community
And Sydney's Mardi Gras Fair Day was held on February 16 this year and saw LWP join the NSW Ambulance, and the Australian Defence Force in promoting Surf Life Saving as proud and safe for LGBTIQ members
